故事以两个主人公的约定而展开，讲述了虽然很贫穷却过得很幸福的少年“下町心”在唯一的亲人母亲过世后，落入了不幸的深渊。一位名叫“高城一希”的少年，也同样失去了姐姐。两个失去亲人的少年与一位能看见精灵的少女“有星多江”，以及“须大叔”、“猫又”、“河童”、“座敷童子”等善良可爱的精灵妖怪，一起踏上了寻找亲人的冒险之路，小伙伴们温暖感人的友情故事也就此展开。即使山川异域，跨越时空，这份友情也决不能忘记！。江湖路远，风云再起，挚友并肩，共赴天涯！。Joe Bell is a penny-pinching hermit saving for the day when his real life will begin. One day he's offered a chest filled with treasure by a cryptic old man known as, "The Clockmaker." After giving the chest to Joe, the Clockmaker "accidentally" locks the chest.
