Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。叶昭（马思纯饰）身为将军的女儿，从小接受父亲南征北战的耳濡目染，个性好强而又活泼，巾帼不让须眉的她年仅十六岁就女扮男装带兵走上了战场，立下屡屡战功，被皇帝封为天下兵马大将军，所以，当她的女儿身曝光之后，整个朝廷都为之震惊。 垂帘听政的刘太后担心锋芒毕露的叶昭会功高震主，于是将她指婚给了皇上的侄子南平郡王赵玉瑾（盛一伦饰）。赵玉瑾虽然拥有着女子们纷纷倾慕的俊美外貌，但实际上却是一个胆小怕事又一事无成的草包，这样的男子自然入不了叶昭的眼，但她不敢违抗圣旨，只得嫁入赵家成为了赵夫人。。
