该剧以二十世纪三四十年代的苏州为背景，讲述了抗日战争初期发生的一场错综复杂、跌宕起伏的间谍战。。夏洛特（桑德拉·狄 Sandra Dee 饰）出生在一个非常开明的家庭之中，她的母亲杰曼（米谢琳·普雷斯勒 Micheline Presle 饰）是一位风情万种的法国女子，夏洛特继承了母亲的多情。一次偶然中，夏洛特邂逅了名为尤金（鲍比·达林 Bobby Darin 饰）的摄影师，才华横溢的尤金很快就吸引了夏洛特的注意令她坠入情网，可是让夏洛特苦恼的是，尤金是一名不婚主义者。 夏洛特向母亲求助，在杰曼的出谋划策之下，两人最终顺利的携手步入了婚姻的殿堂。可是幸福的生活没有持续太久，夏洛特的老同学蒂娜（斯蒂芬妮·鲍尔斯 Stefanie Powers 饰）成为了尤金的新模特。眼看着丈夫对自己越来越冷漠，夏洛特着急了。。During the cold and rainy off-season a man arrives in a seaside town and, giving his name only as Pierre, checks into the only hotel which remains open. His arrival arouses curiosity and a degree of suspicion, as people note that he appears to know the area, yet gives no explanation for his presence at that bleak time of year in the dead-end town.。
