タイトルには魔法少女とあるが魔法少女アニメではなく、魔法少女であるくるみが敵と戦う様子をただ傍観している男子中学生3人を主人公としたギャグアニメである。公式のジャンルは「魔法少女傍観系ギャグアニメ」。 アニメ本編は隔週で配信されており、本編の翌週には声優陣によるオーディオコメンタリー番組「せいぜいがんばれ！魔法少女くるみの中の人」を10分枠で配信。。Heavily influenced by the ghostly series THE KINGDOM, the sleepwalker Karen seeks answers to the unresolved questions of the series in order to save the hospital from doom. Sound asleep one night, Karen wanders into the darkness and inexplicably ends up in front of the hospital. The gate to the Kingdom is opening once more…。
