1904年，驻美公使梁诚在交涉用金亦或银支付庚子赔款的过程中，发现赔款数目“实属过多”，梁奋力追回，终将该款用之于教育并设立清华学校。津门世家子弟梅贻琦考取第一批庚款留美生。校长周诒春刚正不阿，欲将清华建成一流学校。梅贻琦亲历其中，深为敬佩。不料，周遭陷害，抱憾辞职。新校长曹云祥擅权术，乏教学，热衷于培植自己的势力，在梅贻琦等“少壮派”的抵制下，曹灰溜溜地离开了清华。 1928年，清华改制为大学，校长罗家伦深喑梅的威望，将他派驻美国留学生监督处，远离权力中心，罗的强硬作风引起校内外师生的反感。1931年冬，梅贻琦被任命为校长，明确了“大学乃大师之谓也”的治校理念。“一二九”运动后，梅密令将学校部分精密仪器和图书运往长沙，准备南迁。。This World tells the inside story of the 2011 massacre in Norway, offering new insights into the life and mind of the perpetrator Anders Breivik, and exposing the hidden hatreds that inspired him.
