The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。1948年，人民解放军进军辽南，国民党残匪炸毁孤鹰岭矿山大部分设备后，狼狈溃逃。当时，东北全境尚未解放，暗藏的土匪和特务不断制造各种事端，刚接手的矿区一片凄凉。指挥员焦昆（张文 饰）是矿工出身，他深知，要想恢复生产，就必须依靠广大群众，他发动护矿积极分子和出身贫苦的工人，抢修被敌人损坏的开矿设备，尽全力保障钢厂矿石供应。与此同时，阶级敌人也在加紧破坏活动，他们在矿工中制造谣言，盅惑不明真相的群众闹事，并在矿井下制造塌方事故，千方百计阻挠正常生产。矿长邵仁展（陆连明 饰）做事主观武断，听不得群众意见，他把所发生事故的责任全部推到焦昆身上......。传奇车手，飞车界的老大雷子风，带着兄弟们一起备战中朝边境越野拉力赛，却突然接到了一个神秘的电话，得知从朝鲜来的黑帮老大道哥绑架了鸟叔，以此威胁雷子风帮他运送毒品，雷子风为了救出师傅，决定铤而走险。这时太子季从俄罗斯回来参加比赛，目的也为了抢夺这批货，两人相遇，揭开了之间多年的恩怨，太子季曾经因为黑市赌车被师傅逐出家门，太子季以为雷子风出卖了自己而怀恨在心，他为了抢到这批货不择手段，策反了阿森帮他。而此时狡猾的道哥知道大家的注意力都在雷子风身上，为了安全的把货取回来，他找到了安娜，告诉她真正藏货的地点，安娜为了不让雷子风以身犯险，决定自己去救师傅，比赛开始之后，安娜冲出赛道，来到交易地点，却被叛变的阿森抢走了保险箱，太子季和阿森带着保险箱驾车逃走，安娜紧追不舍，最后撞毁了阿森的车，取回了箱子，和知道后赶来的的雷子风救出了师傅。。
