《梅花的名字》是一部多材料实验动画，结合了定格、拼贴及传统手绘的动画方式。讲述了作者母亲在中国的80年代作为一位裁缝和一位再婚女性的故事，以及对作者本人作为女性成长过程中产生的影响。。故事发生在公元前二千三百年左右，三皇五帝之一的舜帝降生于世，生于姚墟。舜帝面貌本就异于凡人，两眼是双瞳仁，故而其母为其取名重华。重华的母亲握登常年卧病在床，在诞生下重华后，本就对重华母亲漠不关心的姚父，更是对重华母子越发的冷漠，并一直认为重华是一个不祥的“四瞳怪”……。This would definitely not have been my kind of movie, but my husband saw it on TV and said it was really good. So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。
