出生在墨西哥的尼罗，一直以来都怀揣着一个美国梦。他从小就在边境线上和一群美国的少年一起玩排球。于是，要成为一个美国公民，就成了他的毕生梦想。尼罗的一个哥哥曾经成功地穿过了边境，来到美国，并且用服兵役做手段获得了美国公民的身份。他现在在洛杉矶的一座豪宅里工作。豪宅主人的奢华生活让尼罗大开眼界。而尼罗要获得绿卡，唯一的捷径就是加入美国军队，执行军事任务。服役期满后，自然就得到了绿卡。于是，尼罗就来到军队，前往沙漠地带，为了自己的“公民权”展开实际意义上的“战斗”。一挺机关枪，就是他成为公民的捷径 。。It’s summer and a group of young women head off for a week to a house in the country in order to rehearse a play.
