导演两年前用纪录片《再见，白楼》（《金边白楼的前世今生》）向自己的童年故居致敬。今次有贾樟柯的公司参与制作，他则以剧情片来细说这栋大楼的居民在逼迁前的故事。主角和两位好友每天都在白楼内练舞，希望终有一天可以上电视台参加比赛。眼见白楼面临清拆，他的父亲想尽办法组织居民，向政府争取更合理的赔偿方案。此时死党亦将离开柬埔寨，他发现从前安稳的家园未必能跟上时代的变化。。15岁的汤姆将和父母和妹妹一起在他们的避暑别墅度假，由于命运的安排，另一个家庭来和此他们一起度假，汤姆也遇到了命中注定的17岁男孩费利克斯......。For Joseph, a young lawyer from Manhattan, his first excursion to Fire Island is far from what he had in mind.
