本片讲述了宝鸡千阳县千川村面临换届选举，青年村民李向南凭借先进的矮砧苹果栽植技术走上富裕路。作为候选人之一的他，想在村里推广新技术，而另一位候选人村主任老耿，则一心想要保住20年前带领大家种植的老乔化苹果树。在经历了苹果滞销、双方互不理解乃至激烈对抗等一系列冲突之后，李向南终于用事实说服老耿。县里派叶小雨为扶贫第一书记协助李向南搞扶贫，二人默契配合克服重重困难，最终先进的苹果种得到推广。。Close to Me follows Jo Harding (Connie Nielsen), a woman who seems to have it all with a beautiful house in the country, a loving family and a devoted husband (Christopher Eccleston).
