某市发生儿童尸体内脏不翼而飞的事件，自由记者兼石庄太（和田聪宏 饰）为调查真相蹲守医院，经亲眼见证儿童尸体死而复生的惊人场面。在搜集线索时，兼石偶然得知附近的丙村35年前曾发生儿童集体失踪的事件。直觉让兼石相信，丙村的失踪案与当下的内脏案有直接联系，于是他和镇公所的女职员香坂（真木よう子 饰）动身前往该村调查。 但他们的调查并不顺利，对于当年的事件村民三缄其口。然而随着当年失踪的两个儿童以35年前的模样再次出现村中时，兼石才渐渐了解村民竭力隐藏的惊天秘密……。Because too much is never enough!
