故事发生在一个风景秀丽的南方小镇之中，连双春（关咏荷 饰）和汪若岚（米雪 饰）相依为命，两人经营着一间小酒馆，却因为连双春糟糕的厨艺和汪若岚的精神错乱而几乎门可罗雀。 马永祯（郭晋安 饰）是四处招摇赚骗、骗吃骗喝的小混混。某日，他遇见了汪若岚，被后者当成了“大师兄”而反复纠缠，又与连双春产生了矛盾，于是，为了报复，马永祯决定前往连双春的小酒馆工作，借此敛财。哪知道，一场意外让小酒馆背负上了巨额债务，还惹了一身的官司，与此同时，马永祯亦于偶然之中发现，连双春和好友梁九妹（郭政鸿 饰）竟然就是自己的童年玩伴，三人曾经有过至深的情谊。于是，马永祯一改往日的无赖嘴脸，决定帮助连双春。。为了侦破棘手案件，警方往往借助线人之手获取情报。然而在行动过程中，却常常有意无意置线人于危险之地。一年前，线人废噏（廖启智 饰）的悲惨下场让香港警察李沧东（张家辉 饰）的身心备受煎熬，表面的荣迁始终洗刷不掉铭刻其心中的罪恶感。而如今，他不得不再次与新的线人合作。这次，他找到了命运多舛的小混混何细鬼（谢霆锋 饰）。为了搭救身陷水火的妹妹，细鬼无奈接受了李沧东的任务，打入金行大盗华天（陆毅 饰）的团伙内部获取情报。 在细鬼的帮助下，警方掌握越来越多的证据，抓捕的罗网也渐渐收拢。与此同时，细鬼的境遇也愈加危险。一年前的悲剧似乎将再次重演，李沧东该如何选择……。Growing up in a small town, Charlie, Alex and Nick weren't the most popular kids around after they formed "The Elite Monster Unit". Chasing notorious, mythical legends and ghosts was exciting to them, not "cool" to the other kids around. So they lived their lives on the outside of the "in" crowd. Making matters worse was Charlie's obvious crush on Brandy, one of the most popular kids in school and sister to one of the biggest bullies around. Trying to impress Brandy, Charlie accepts a dare from her brother Nick that says he and his friends must spend Halloween night in a house long rumored to be haunted.What seems to be an easy challenge quickly turns out to be a night of frights as Charlie, Nick and Alex find themselves in the fight of their lives trying to out smart (and outrun) their new nemesis, a ghost dog named Salty, who does whatever he can to make this the worst night of their lives...。
